Installation(s)
Vinyl tape on glass.
This piece was installed at chashama's 1351 window in Harlem. This drawing was particularly enjoyable to install because the presence of art is almost non-existent in this neighborhood. Passersby regularly stopped to watch my progress, which gave the installation the feeling of a performance. The finished piece inspired subsequent work in a variety of materials from painting to sculpture.
I continue to use colored electrical (vinyl) tape for my drawing material. I like using this utilitarian tape which can be purchased at any Home Depot. At the end of the exhibition, I remove and discard the tape.
